How does Invisalign work?

Using a series of invisible, custom made aligners, the Invisalign system gradually moves your teeth into place over the course of treatment. These aligners are designed using 3-D imagining technology and each aligner is completely unique to you. Each will be worn for about one week before moving on to the next, with each aligner moving your teeth a little bit closer to the desired position. Visits to our office are less frequent when using the Invisalign system, and we normally see patients once every two months.

Another advantage of Invisalign is what is known as the Clincheck. Before the patient begins treatment, the dentist and patient can review the virtuelle computer simulation of the treatment from start to finish. The length of time of the treatment and a view of the end result will be known before beginning treatment.

Invisalign is nearly invisible, so the only person who needs to know you are improving your smile is you. Unlike many traditional methods of treatment, there is no impact on speech and you do not need to relearn how to complete basic tasks such as eating, brushing, and flossing. It is the easiest and most aesthetically pleasing treatment available.

Why should I choose Invisalign?

The biggest reason patients request Invisalign treatment is that it is invisible. Patients do not want to drastically change their appearance just to correct some irregularities in their smile. However, that is not the only benefit. As the aligners are removable, patients do not need to change their diet or learn a new way to brush and floss. Since there are no metal elements, the aligners do not cause mouth abrasions. They are also safer than traditional braces when playing sports.

Invisalign Vivera Retainer

Why Are Retainers So Crucial to Long-Term Orthodontic Success?

Once braces are removed, the inclination of the teeth is to move back to their original position, putting you right back where you started. Orthodontists discovered a great solution to the problem, the retainer. Using the retainer, patients can keep their teeth looking great and avoid spending more time and money having their orthodontic treatments repeated in the future.

Why Choose Vivera Retainers Over Other Alternatives?

Vivera retainers, created by Align Technology, have a number of benefits that make them attractive to both orthodontists and patients alike. Unlike Hawley retainers, Vivera appliances are virtually invisible and are custom-made from thermoplastic instead of metal and thick plastic. Not only does this make them far more comfortable to wear, it also ensures a more exacting fit to promote ease of use as well as efficacy.

Utilizing the same technology that has made Invisalign so very effective and popular, Vivera retainers offer many advantages over other clear retainers as well. Tests have shown that Vivera appliances are up to 30 % stronger than their clear counterparts, making these retainers far more durable and able to hold the teeth in their proper location. Additionally, Vivera retainers have even been found to make small corrections to the alignment of the teeth when needed, in the event of minor regression.

What Should You Expect From Your Vivera Retainer?

Vivera retainers come in 3 sets of custom-made appliances. The goal is to provide you with the maximum retention benefits possible. Depending upon your particular situation, you’ll likely need to wear your retainers either full-time or while sleeping. We recommend lifetime usage so as to prevent any regression that could require further treatment.
